The Synthetic Biology Open Language (SBOL) is rapidly gaining traction in the synthetic biology community. This talk will explain what SBOL is, it's history, how it works, and why it is an important technology for anyone working in SynBio. The talk will also describe some of the SBOL related research happening within ICOS, including SynBioHub and the Virtual Parts Repository.
