In recent years there has been several attempts at building DNA nanomachines powered by toehold strand displacement reactions. In my work, I try to investigate deeper into the kinetics and thermodynamics of DNA strand displacement, to further understand the potential regarding signal specificity and amplification, as well as component modularity of DNA nanomachines. In this talk will give a general overview of my research to date and briefly discuss the future plans.
