In this talk I will give an overview of the study of brain morphology and how theoretical approaches may shed light on the mechanisms underlying it. One candidate mechanism appears to describe brain morphology well across species, individuals, brain regions, and scales. I will discuss the implications of this and its practical uses in neuroscience and neurology.
