Since my PhD I have been involved in a wide variety of AI research on four (now five) projects. The common denominator of all my research has been that most basic of problems in AI: search. Whether it was searching for: a solution of the Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP), optimal distributions of Agent-based Simulations, neural activity patterns for processing continuous music, or efficient plans in Robotics; all my research essentially boils down to finding means to do intelligent search. Currently I am searching for criminals in the cloud! As my introduction to the ICOS group, I will (briefly!) discuss some (or all?) these topics, and how they relate to AI and search.
