Membranes, microfluidics, microbubbles: from underpinning science to early diagnosis and therapy

This talk will outline three areas of work currently undertaken within the MNP group within the University of Leeds.From the development of supported lipid membranesas model systemsfor understanding phase behaviour, the formation of membrane domains and their importance protein behaviour, through the application of microfluidic systems for the early diagnosis and detection of disease and finally, we will consider work on the development of diagnostic lipid coated microbubbles for imaging and treatment.
