Brief history of the ICOS group

In September 2013 the Biology, Neuroscience and Computing group led by Prof. A. Wipat from the School of Computing Science at the Newcastle University merged with the Interdisciplinary Computing and Complex Systems group led by Prof. N. Krasnogor, who moved from the University of Nottingham.

The new group, Interdisciplinary Computing and Complex BioSystems (ICOS), is now jointly led by Krasnogor and Wipat. It collects world leading expertise in computational sciences (Machine Intelligence, Complex Systems, Knowledge Management) with internationally recognised know-how in Bioinformatics, Neuroinformatics, Synthetic Biology and Systems Biology.
